Ellen Dunham-Jones is a professor of Architecture and Urban Design on the Georgia Tech University. In the 2009 she published as a co-author with June Williamson the book “Retrofitting Suburbia; Urban Design Solutions for Redesigning Suburbs”
The book also received the 2009 PROSE award for architecture and urban planning from the American Association of Publishers and was commented in Time Magazine’s in March 2009 for the cover story “10 ideas changing the world right now.”

“In the last 50 years, we’ve been building the suburbs with a lot of unintended consequences. And I’m going to talk about some of those consequences and just present a whole bunch of really interesting projects that I think give us tremendous reasons to be really optimistic that the big design and development project of the next 50 years is going to be retrofitting suburbia.”
